Letter, Oct. 9, 1928, signed by Roosevelt to Allan D. Millard in Beardstown, Ill. discussing his support of Governor Al Smith for president and asking Mr. Millard to let him know, confidentially, who he is voting for. Carbon copy of Millard letter to Roosevelt stating that he is voting for Smith, hoping that he would return the country to "the era of liberalism" ... "so completely interrupted in the last seven years". Praise to Roosevelt for running for governor. Signed letter from Roosevelt to Millard, Nov. 17, 1928, thanking him for writing him and discussing his hopes for the Democratic party.

Franklin Delano Roosevelt was born on January 30, 1882, in Hyde Park, New York. He was the son of James (lawyer, financier) and Sara (Delano) Roosevelt.
